Welcome Message from Don Coleman I'm so glad you took the time to visit my site. I believe our schools, our teachers, and our children deserve more from city leadership. My wife and I are both products of Richmond Public Schools. My youngest daughter attends Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School. I have a vested interest in seeing continued improvement in our schools. We have endured two years of power struggles within our city government. The School Board, City Council and the Mayor have each proposed their unique vision for the Richmond Public Schools. No consensus was reached as each group held to its own vision. Disagreements are understandable in the public square, but Richmond has been torn by disunity. The excessive cost in time, dollars and the people’s trust must stop now. As your School Board Representative, I will facilitate the creation of a City Wide Vision for Educational Excellence. The key elements of this plan will be: Quality & Equality, Collaborative Efforts, and Financial Health. Please explore this site to find out more of my hopes and plans for Richmond Public Schools.
